Sew Fabulous Community Interest Company is based in Brighton Open Market.
We have classes for children and young people every day after school, and we have home educated kids groups during the day on Monday and Friday.
We are looking to recruit class assistants for our Monday classes.
Monday classes are from 2.30-4 for home ed students and 4pm to 5.30pm for after school students
All volunteers need to go through our recruitment process including an initial trial period.
Sew Fabulous is looking to actively train and mentor potential teachers, so if you are interested in progressing in this way please mention this in your application.
Our children’s class volunteers will assist with:
- Setting up and tidying away.
- Preparing learning materials.
- Helping students to use sewing machines and other equipment safely and effectively.
- Helping students with their projects.
- Taking photographs of students work.

Practical Considerations
If you are successful in your application to become a
volunteer we ask for a minimum commitment of 12 sessions (1 full term).
DBS checks will be required.

Skills
It is essential that any prospective volunteers:
- Have good basic sewing skills and arts experience.
- Can easily build a strong rapport and positive working relationship with adults, children and young people.
- Can take direction well, work with all people in a conscious, good natured, creative way.
- Have an interest in sewing/textiles/arts.
- Are committed to Sew Fabulous’s aims and objectives.
